If the Governor is abroad or temporarily unable to perform her duties, the Deputy Governor takes her place.

Nolda Römer-Kenepa was appointed Deputy Governor of Curaçao on 1 June 2013. Ms Römer-Kenepa was born in Curaçao on 3 January 1953 and is married to Philip Römer. She studied modern history at VU University in Amsterdam and was head of the National Archives of the Netherlands Antilles, later becoming director of the National Archives of Curaçao.
